How to Swap Meals and Load into the Terminal (Video)
Overview
This article walks you through how to load and heat a meal using the Plated terminal, from selecting the meal type to placing it in the warming unit.
Step 1: Start a New Meal
- On the terminal home screen, select Prepare Any Time Meal.
- When prompted, choose Prepare an Unplanned Meal, then tap Next.
- Select the meal type. For example, choose Dinner.
- Enter the quantity of meals you are preparing, then tap Next.
Step 2: Select Your Meal
- The terminal will display a pre-loaded meal (e.g., Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry). You can view all ingredients and nutritional information on this screen.
- If you need to change the meal, tap Swap This Item.
- Select Any Time Meal, then tap Next.
- Choose the meal that matches what you have in hand (e.g., Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes).
- Allow the terminal a moment to process your selection.
Step 3: Load the Meal into the Warming Unit
- The terminal will display the message Heating in Progress — Assemble Meals. Tap Next.
- Wait until the warming unit slot becomes highlighted on screen.
- On the warming unit, locate the top slot (the same one highlighted on the terminal screen).
- Wait for the white arrow indicator to appear on the warming unit before opening the door.
- Once the white arrow is lit, open the warming unit door.
- Place the meal plate inside the unit. Do Not Remove The Film Seal On The Plate. The icon on the terminal will change to three wavy lines, which confirms the meal is properly loaded.
- Close the warming unit door.
- After a moment, press the confirm button on the terminal to complete the loading process.
Step 4: Monitor Active Meals
- The terminal dashboard displays all meals currently in progress, including their start times.
- Completed meals will appear with a finished status indicator.
