Terminal & Heating Unit Locking

Terminal & Heating Unit Locking

Summary

Terminals and Heating Unit doors can now be locked by a user or automatically after a period of inactivity, protecting against unauthorized access. A system-generated 4-digit PIN is used to lock and unlock both the Terminal screen and the Heating Unit doors.

What's new

The Locking feature adds a security layer to your Production Center. When enabled, a unique 4-digit PIN is required to access the Terminal screen — and that same PIN controls access to the Heating Unit doors. Locking can be set to activate automatically after a period of inactivity, or users can lock the Terminal manually.

Organizations can require all facilities to use Locking, or they can allow individual facilities to manage the setting locally.

How PINs work

Getting your PIN
  • PINs are system-generated and sent to you by email
  • PINs cannot be customized
  • If your PIN is lost, a new one can be sent to you at any time
Where your PIN works
  • Your PIN works on every terminal in every location you have access to
  • PINs are tied to the facility level, not to individual production centers
  • Each user's PIN is unique and cannot be shared

Platform access & invitations

Users can now be invited to two separate parts of the platform — Operations and the Production Center (Terminal) — or both. If invited to both, you will receive two separate email invitations.

Operations access
  • Requires a user-created password
  • Forgotten passwords can be self-reset
Terminal (Production Center) access
  • Uses your unique 4-digit PIN
  • PIN is sent to you by email
  • Lost PINs can be replaced with a new one

Facility settings

Facility administrators can manage Locking in their Facility Settings, unless the Organization has restricted this. Available controls include:

  • Turn Locking on or off for the facility
  • Enable automatic locking after a set period of inactivity
If your Organization has enabled a Locking requirement, you will not be able to turn this feature off at the facility level.
